Uncertainty

  • UNCERTAINTY (DVD MOVIE)
Loud music. Pornography. Lighting fires. These are a few of Hesher’s favorite things. And they are what Hesher (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) brings into the lives of TJ (Devin Brochu) and his father Paul (Rainn Wilson) when he takes up residence in the garage uninvited. Grief stricken by the loss of TJ’s mother, Paul can’t muster the strength to evict the strange squatter and soon the long-haired, ta ttooed Hesher becomes a fixture in the household. Like a force of nature, Hesher’s anarchy shakes the family out of their grief and helps them embrace life once more.As the title character in Hesher, Joseph Gordon-Levitt wears a grungy fright wig and anarchic death-metal attitude to match. He's worlds away from the suave, immaculately groomed covert operative he played in Inception. But what's consistent in both performances and the thing that gives the übe! r-indie and perhaps overly nihilistic Hesher its punch is Gordon-Levitt's sleek, leonine physicality. Hesher is a mysterious, violent, rude, yet affectingly empathetic drifter who appears in the life of 13-year-old T.J., his depressed father, and ailing grandmother, all of whom are grieving the recent death of the boy's mother. Hesher drives a beat-up black van and sleeps in vacant houses (until he moves uninvited into T.J.'s garage), popping in and out of the action at random and seemingly just to bring more chaos into the life of T.J. and his family. Whether Hesher is what the family needs to unscrew itself from the funk of extreme dysfunction caused by their communal tragedy is something first-time writer-director Spencer Susser tries hard to work out, and not always with complete success. It's a tough and very messy narrative that runs dangerously close to mawkishness, but for the vicious outbursts of brutality, aggression, and deep-seated emotional pain lying ju! st beneath everyone's surface. Hesher is the catalyst, and for! tunately Gordon-Levitt's physical grace is extraordinarily compelling as he pushes and punishes his lithe body in complete commitment to the role. This is a severely damaged soul who's probably beyond redemption himself, but understands that he still has something to give that might be of aid to someone else. As the primary beneficiary of the salvation on offer, Devin Brochu is an impressive little brother-like match as T.J., even as he's constantly exposed to the physical danger that's a by-product of being in proximity to Hesher (kudos to the tiny stunt double who gets tossed around like a rag doll). The rest of the cast do their best to keep up with the bedlam. Rainn Wilson is stretching some little-used actorly muscles as the near-catatonic dad for whom something must change, and Natalie Portman looking positively frumpy as a down-and-out ragamuffin who crosses paths with both T.J. and Hesher seems also to be trying to put a shine on her indie cred. Piper Laurie's turn as the ob! ese, uncomprehending grandmother is a poignant peak in her long career and a character that's integral to the changes everyone else experiences, most especially Hesher himself. --Ted FryLoud music. Every choice has a consequence. But what if the flip of a coin could trigger two separate but parallel destinies? Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) and Lynn Collins (WOLVERINE) star as Bobby and Kate, a young New York couple at a crossroads whose lives are about to take very different heads/tails directions: A visit to Brooklyn leads them to gentle discoveries about family, loss and each other, while a day in Manhattan plunges them into an urban nightmare of pursuit, suspense and murder. The Unknown Civil War Series: Gettysburg

  • GETTYSBURG (DVD MOVIE)
The fiercest battle fought on American soil commands the screen an epic film achievement painstakingly recreating the people and events of fateful days in july 1863. Special features: subtitles in English and French, cas/crew interview gallery, cast/director filmographies, and much more.Three days in the summer of 1863, at a place called Gettysburg. Although it received a theatrical release, this four-hour depiction of the bloody Civil War battle was shot as a made-for-television film. But no taint of cheapness or shortcuts should stick to this magnificent picture (well, except maybe for those phony-looking mustaches). Based on Michael Shaara's book The Killer Angels, this film takes a refreshingly slow, thorough approach to the intricacies of battle. In ordinary circumstances, those intricacies might seem of importance only to fans of military strategy or Civi! l War enthusiasts, yet in Gettysburg they come across as the very stuff of life, death, and unexpected heroism. If the film has a problem, it's that it climaxes too early: the first long segment, detailing the struggle of a "civilian soldier," Union Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain (Jeff Daniels), to hold his ground against long odds, is an enthralling piece of moviemaking. Daniels, in a heartbreaking performance, does his best film work. Other cast members include Tom Berenger, Sam Elliott, and Martin Sheen as Robert E. Lee. Richard Jordan, in his final role, gives a powerhouse performance as Confederate general Lewis A. Armistead. Oh, and you can also try to spot Ted Turner, whose company produced the film, as a Confederate soldier. Writer-director Ronald F. Maxwell seems inspired by the gravity of the battle; long as it is, every moment of Gettysburg is informed by a nobility of purpose. --Robert Horton

Drawin! g on ori ginal source material, from soldiers' letters to official military records of the war, Stephen W. Sears's Gettysburg is a remarkable and dramatic account of the legendary campaign. With characteristic style and insight, Sears brings the epic tale of the battle in Pennsylvania vividly to life.Marking the 150th-anniversary commemoration of the Civil War, Ronald F. Studio: A&e Home Video Release Date: 09/20/2011 Run time: 94 minutesThe epic battle of Gettysburg, fought over a three-day period at the beginning of July 1863, was bloody, brutal, and bitter--making it ideally suited to the History Channel's testosterone-fueled documentary approach. Viewers familiar with offerings like Battles B.C., Patton 360, and multiple others will recognize this style: loud and kinetic, flashy and uns! ubtle, Gettysburg blends reenactments, photos, CGI (use! d to dep ict and dissect the weaponry that made the Civil War's body count so high in general, with some 50,000 casualties at Gettysburg alone), Sam Rockwell's macho voice-over narration, actors reading the reminiscences of the participants, and a variety of expert talking heads holding forth. For the most part, it works; historians and Civil War buffs have already noted some of the factual errors, important omissions, and other problems with the material, but those less versed in the details will come away from this 94-minute program (which was executive produced by noted directors Tony and Ridley Scott) with a good deal of information about the confrontation that inspired President Abraham Lincoln's immortal address, referenced near the end of the documentary. Typical of the History Channel, some of this information is delivered in hyperbolic, melodramatic fashion. Gettysburg was "the largest battle ever fought in the Western Hemisphere," while the cannons that blasted away at Gen.! Robert E. Lee's men during the fateful attack known as Pickett's Charge was "the largest artillery barrage ever" in that same sphere; numerous other events are the biggest, the most iconic, the most important, and so on. The overheated writing does Gettysburg no favors, but director Adrian Moat and the other filmmakers' decision to focus on a variety of individuals on both sides was a wise one. Thus we learn about characters like Maj. Gen. Dan Sickles of the North, who had killed his wife's lover before the war and successfully used "the first plea of temporary insanity in U.S. history" to win acquittal; Pvt. Amos Humiston, another Yank, who died on the streets of the Pennsylvania town with nothing to identify him except a photo of his three sons; Confederate Lt. Gen. Dick Ewell, who had vowed revenge after losing a leg earlier in the war; Col. James Wallace, a Marylander who was both a Union officer and slave owner; and numerous others. In the end, it's these portr! aits that help distinguish the program from the many, many oth! ers of i ts ilk. --Sam Graham“[I]n a larger sense, we can not dedicateâ€"we can not consecrateâ€"we can not hallowâ€"this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our power to add or detract.”
â€"President Abraham Lincoln

James M. McPherson, the Pulitzer Prizeâ€"winning author of Battle Cry of Freedom, and arguably the finest Civil War historian in the world, walks us through the site of the bloodiest and perhaps most consequential battle ever fought by Americans.

The events that occurred at Gettysburg are etched into our collective memory, as they served to change the course of the Civil War and with it the course of history. More than any other place in the United States, Gettysburg is indeed hallowed ground. It’s no surprise that it is one of the nation’s most visited sites (nearly two million annual visitors), attracting tourists, military buffs, and students of American history.

McP! herson, who has led countless tours of Gettysburg over the years, makes stops at Seminary Ridge, the Peach Orchard, Cemetery Hill, and Little Round Top, among other key locations. He reflects on the meaning of the battle, describes the events of those terrible three days in July 1863, and places the struggle in the greater context of American and world history. Along the way, he intersperses stories of his own encounters with the place over several decades, as well as debunking several popular myths about the battle itself.

What brought those 165,000 soldiersâ€"75,000 Confederate, 90,000 Unionâ€"to Gettysburg? Why did they lock themselves in such a death grip across these once bucolic fields until 11,000 of them were killed or mortally wounded, another 29,000 were wounded and survived, and about 10,000 were “missing”â€"mostly captured? What was accomplished by all of this carnage? Join James M. McPherson on a walk across this hallowed ground as he be encompasses ! the depth of meaning and historical impact of a place that hel! ped defi ne the nation’s character.GETTYSBURG - DVD Movie

Hey, Hey, Hey?you?re ?gonna have a good time? watching Fat Albert (Kenan Thompson) and his pals in their first feature-length movie! The beloved animated characters from the ?70s make the leap to live action to help a troubled teenager (Kyla Pratt) as they experience the heartfelt emotions and hilarious absurdities of the real world. Comedy genius Bill Cosby (creator of the original ?Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids? TV show) co-stars in this crowd-pleasing family favorite that?s bursting with fresh hip-hop music and tons of laughs! The bright cartoon colors of the Saturday morning classic Fat Albert get brought into the real world--or a Hollywood facsimile of reality, at any rate. When a t! eenage girl named Doris (Kyla Pratt) sheds a tear onto her TV's remote control, her unhappiness summons Fat Albert (Kenan Thompson, Barbershop 2), Mushmouth, Dumb Donald, Old Weird Harold, and the rest of the gang from Bill Cosby's popular cartoon (inspired by his childhood memories of growing up in Philadelphia). Doris is, to say the least, a little freaked out and doesn't really want Fat Albert to help solve her problems--but with the blithe confidence that only cartoon characters can have, Fat Albert and the gang follow her to school to root out the source of her misery. One of the movie's problems (which are legion) is that Doris's world isn't much more real than the cartoon one; it's a sterile, clean-cut caricature of a city neighborhood. In fact, the whole movie feels suspiciously like a commercial for a DVD of Fat Albert cartoons, an advertisement for which actually appears in the movie, making for a bizarrely self-referential product placement. Thompso! n, surprisingly, hangs on to his dignity in the face of the in! ane proc eedings and even gives Fat Albert a hint of gravitas. --Bret FetzerFat Albert and the Cosby kids aired from 1972 to 1984 and enjoyed one of the longest and most successful runs in Saturday morning cartoon history. Live action bumpers featuring Bill Cosby were set around animated episodes of Fat Albert and the Cosby kids, a series about a group of urban adolescents growing up in a Philadelphia neighborhood. The show was based on Cosby's 60's stand up comedy monologues about his childhood. The episodes revolved around the daily life lessons learned by Fat Albert and his friends. Topics ranged from social issues to personal introspection and were blended with humor and music. Among the many great characters that inhabited Fat Albert's world were Rudy, Mushmouth, Donald, Bill, Weird Harold and Russell. A special collection of these historic episodes were compiled into one box set...The Ultimate Fat Albert 4 Disc Set. Volume 5 of the SuperTargeting Affiliate Training Series is a very unique e-book in this affiliate ! program coaching series.

This book is an in-depth look over my shoulders as I research a niche Amazon affiliate market, perform keyword research with the Google Keyword Tool, and ultimately find an exact match .COM domain name that is available for registration.

Nothing is held back in this special e-book edition - this is literally a Step-By-Step guide to niche domain name research.

Instead of just writing about the strategies that I have personally developed for domain name registration and keyword research with the Google Keyword Tool, I have completely packed this e-book with pictures that literally show every step that I perform for every new domain that I register.

The domains that you can find with my techniques work great for Amazon affiliate websites, since that is the exact strategy that I show in this e-book and this training series. However, these exact match .COM domains can be found with my strategies for literally A! NY affiliate program.

If you're familiar with exact! match . COM domains, you know that it's a domain with a name that is an exact match with a keyword phrase that receives a reasonable amount of monthly search traffic (usually on Google). These top level domains are extremely powerful in search engine rankings, and they're commonly sold for high dollar amounts all over the internet.

Whether you want to learn professional, advanced keyword research to find a domain name to build your own websites or if you just want to flip the domains for quick cash, I, Ryan Stevenson, personally guarantee that you will find my strategies to be extremely useful and powerful.

This guide book is going to teach you tips, tricks, and hidden secrets that you probably don't know.

How can I be confident that you don't know the information in my book? I know because this information isn't something you can find by searching the internet. I have put together this coaching program for affiliates based on my own knowledge and e! xperience as an internet marketer for over 15 years.

It took me many years to come up with this very precise strategy that I have detailed, in both words and pictures, in this book.

I taught myself how to succeed online with years of trial and error, but you don't have to wait that long to figure out everything that I have learned over the years. Absolutely everything that I do to find my own exact match domain names is detailed in this book without anything held back.

Once again, this is not your ordinary e-book that is plain text. There are many screenshot pictures contained in this e-book that will show you EXACTLY what I do, and then I explain exactly why I do it.

The examples that I show in this e-book will show this process using the Google Keyword Tool and also the Amazon affiliate / associates program. The key information in this training lesson is not the portion about Amazon, but I use Amazon for a particular purpose in! this niche research process.

The use of Amazon as! the aff iliate program can certainly be switched out with literally any other affiliate network without reducing the effectiveness and usefulness of this lesson.

In addition to guiding you through the entire niche selection, keyword research, and exact match .COM domain name selection process, I am even going to give you some guidance on registering your new domain name and getting it set up on a website hosting account.

Best of all, my e-book contains a coupon code in it that I guarantee will save you more money on a single year's worth of domain name registration than this entire book will cost you, and this coupon code is for one of the top domain name registrars in the entire world. I personally use this company for all of my domain name registrations, so I am confident in recommending it's use.

We see it in movies. We read about it in novels. We hear it from our friends
and families. It could either be a fairy tale version comple! te with a “happily ever
after” ending or a tragedy costing countless days and nights of misery. What could
be so powerful and gripping it could direct the course of so many lives?
As Queen (the band, not the royalty) used to sing, “That crazy little thing
called LOVE…”
A lot of us have had our fair share of ups and downs when it comes to
relationships. However, even if we get hurt many times, we get back up, brush
ourselves off, and get over the past to find new love. We willingly go through this
roller-coaster ride of emotional highs and lows â€" willing to feel the thrill of
happiness and the agony of defeat. Although battle-scarred, we still look for
someone who can help us heal, mend us and make us realize that heartbreak is
not the end of our lives. Why?
The euphoric sensation a person feels when he or she is in a blooming and
working relationship is incomparable. This is why: a person becomes more
! inspired, more in tune and is in rhythm with the rest of his or her world. Everything
just seems to click in place. People write their most moving poems and stories
when they’re in love. Musicians make the best chart-busting songs when they’re
inspired by Cupid’s arrow. Who hasn’t felt like they could conquer the world for the
one they love?
Since time immemorial, man has tried to define what true love is. Many
5
explanations, discussions and debates have been made but none have truly
embraced its full essence. Maybe none is really needed. A person just knows
when it is the real thing. All that matters is that you have someone who you can
love and someone who will also truly love you back.
Now some people will go to great lengths to find their one true love. And
there are others who just sit back and wait. There are those who have been lucky
enough to have someone look for them, but there are also thos! e who have to wait
a long time to be found. This can be q! uite fru strating for them. The long wait
makes them feel unwanted and undesirable. They experience depression and
loneliness. They are wary of allowing anyone to get to know them after so many
rejections â€" real or imagined - due to their inaction. Lastly, there are also those who
have been rejected frequently and are almost ready to give up the effort of finding
a mate.
Rejection can make a big dent in a person's ego, especially if they feel that
they’re not that good looking. People tend to size up a person by the way they look.
Usually, physical attraction plays a big part in determining which person they would
like to go out with. This is why it is so hard for most people to confidently ask
someone out. Physical attractiveness is also a major factor in shyness, which can
cause shy people to have a fear of rejection as well.
Robin, a 17-year-old high school girl from Las Vegas had severe bouts with
acne throughou! t her teen-age life. She used to be a bubbly kid in grade school and
was very popular with her peers. However, when her acne problems started she
6
lost all her enthusiasm for life. She doesn’t want to go to school anymore. She feels
that her classmates ridicule her acne-riddled face and no boy would ever ask her
out. Most of the girls in her class are now going out and the fact that nobody has
asked her yet has increased her shyness.
Robin doesn’t go to school dances and refuses to join extra-curricular
activities. Her severe acne problem hounds her throughout her high school life.
She went to a couple of dermatologists to cure her skin and she also went to a
psychologist to work out her shyness at her parents’ insistence.
How many Robins are out there today feeling the same low self-esteem and
depression? How many feel like they’re missing part of their lives because of their
issues? Many teens and y! oung adults have problems with self-esteem and a good
num! ber of t hem have carried this all through their life.INTRODUCTION
